Meet Susan: a 46-year-old mother of three, recently divorced from her high school sweetheart. She’s a dispatcher in the county sheriff’s department. When her children were younger, her job allowed her to work nights while her husband worked days so one of them was always with the kids.
Unfortunately, 25 years of working mostly opposite hours, meant she and
Billy had little time together. It took its toll on her marriage. When
Susan began suspecting that Billy was being unfaithful to her, she felt
terribly betrayed. She didn’t object when the subject of divorce
finally surfaced.
Billy takes their four kids every other weekend, leaving Susan with
entirely too much time on her hands. Susan hasn’t dated since Carter
was in the White House, and she is nervous about taking that step.
She’s inclined to take it slow and maybe go solo for the time being.
Susan looks 10 years younger than she actually is, a fact that hasn’t
escaped a number of younger men who flirt with her when she and her
best friend Grace go out for the occasional beer. Susan wonders what
these experienced young bucks might expect of her, what they might
teach her and when she will be ready to find out.
Read Susan’s confessions as a single-again woman with a second chance at getting what she wants – in and out of bed.
