Hugh Hefner Calls It Quits
9/14/2009
Hugh Hefner, 83, has finally called it quits to wife and former Playmate, Kimberly Conrad, 47, after 20 years of marriage. They cite irreconcilable differences as the main fault of their relationship.
This may come to surprise a lot of people. Hugh Hefner was married? The Playboy magazine founder always has a bunny to his left and to his right. A picture of him is impossible to find without some gorgeous knockout attached to him.
The couple has been separated since January 1998 and has two sons. Conrad and their children have lived right next door to the Mansion. Maybe they should rename his show to "My Family Next Door."
Hugh has said to TMZ that, "I am happy to be out of the marriage. I only remained married (to Conrad) for the sake of the children, at her request. I am happy to have this behind me."
In August, Conrad had filed a $5 million lawsuit against Hefner in reference to the sale of a house in which they both owned. In response to this lawsuit, Hefner has said that he has been "generous to a fault" and does not think he owes anything to Conrad.
So what do you give a man that has everything? Twin 19 year olds? Or how about more money? It is said that he has more than $43 million in assets and that is not even including stock, property, and let’s not forget the over $40k a month he spends on food and entertainment.
In Hugh's case, well, he just wants a divorce, even if it will be costing him $20,000 a month in alimony. He has said that in the 11 years they have been separated, he has gifted her over $12 million dollars.
Profits for Playboy Enterprises Inc. have declined in recent years because of all the free adult material on the web. However, still going strong, Playboy has hired a new CEO to substitute Hugh's daughter Christie, who after 20 years, has left the company. Hugh will stay editor-in-chief and retain the control of Playboy.
